Transparency & Accountability

Northside Neighborhood Association

The layer of transparency and accountability for C8's fundraising efforts. Board-level oversight for Adopt the Web, Community Work, and every project and partnership we build.

Jarod Thornton — Vice President Chair, Media & Communications

Why the Association Matters

Jarod is the Vice President of the Northside Neighborhood Association and currently serves as Chair of the Media and Communications Committee. This isn't just a partnership—it's direct leadership within a civic organization that provides real oversight.

The NNA board is the layer of transparency and accountability for the fundraising efforts that Luke and Jarod put into Adopt the Web, the Community Work Committee, the Community Work Program, and all community work projects and partnerships.

When you support C8, you're not just trusting two guys with good intentions. You're trusting a structure with board members, meeting minutes, and public accountability. That's the point.

2026 Strategy

The Community Work Committee

In 2026, the Northside Neighborhood Association is consolidating several committees. One of the new committees is the Community Work Committee—which will encompass all recovery-related aspects of C8's work.

Other board members and association members can partner with Jarod and Luke through this committee to help manage the budget from fundraising efforts for the Community Work Program.

And the program extends well beyond Lexington. We're already meeting with people, working on proposals, and the fundraising has begun.

Board Oversight

Real accountability. The NNA board reviews budgets, approves expenditures, and provides the kind of oversight that donors and partners expect.

Budget Transparency

Fundraising flows through the association. Where the money goes, how it's spent—all subject to committee review and public accountability.

Partner Participation

Other board members and community members can join the Community Work Committee—working alongside Jarod and Luke, not just funding from afar.

Beyond Lexington

The Community Work Program extends well beyond city limits. As we grow support, we can scale the model to other neighborhoods and regions.

The Ask

The Northside Neighborhood Association is our accountability layer. Fundraising has already begun—we're meeting with partners, developing proposals, and building the structure to do this right.

We're asking for your support, whether that's financial contribution, partnership, or joining the Community Work Committee directly. Every dollar flows through the association. Every expenditure is subject to board review.
